EPL: Conte explains why he’s the best for Chelsea job, gives update on Giroud.
Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte, has insisted that he remains the best manager to handle the Premier League Champions despite present form of the club.
Conte is in his second season in charge of the club.
Chelsea suffered a shock 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth on Wednesday leaving in fourth position, 18 points behind Manchester City.
The Italian has repeatedly complained of Chelsea’s failure to sign world-class players, further fuelling speculation he won’t remain in charge at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season.
Conte told reporters, “I trust in my work and this is the only way that brought me to be one of the best managers.
“I don’t trust in anything else, only in my work and my job.”
The former Juventus manager, is however, is wary of throwing newly signed former Arsenal striker, Giroud straight into his starting line-up for Monday night’s trip to Watford.
He added, “We are working with him and we have to check his physical condition. It won’t be easy for him to start against Watford.”
