It would also facilitate equivalent visa bans in other globally desirable locations as well. Nigeria has also ratified the Convention. This can be a tough challenge because when all you see is negativity or poor results, it is a lot easier to think negatively and focus on things like why bad things always happen to you or why you can never seem to achieve your goals. This can be a trap that can destroy your life in terms of preventing you from ever realizing your goals and dreams. In this article, I will discuss the importance of being able to think positively and will also offer you some tips on how you can use this to change your life.<br /> The problem that many people have is that thinking positively is easier said than done. When you are in the middle of a challenge, it’s not always easy to look on the bright side of things. So how do you have positive thoughts when there seems to be no evidence that you will achieve your goals or get pass your challenge? Faith. You have to have faith that you will be better off if you believe in yourself and keep fighting for your dreams. It’s not something that everyone can do but it’s something that you can develop.<br /> You can start to create a more positive mindset by reading positive books or listening to a positive CDs every day. One really great book is, “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Norman V. Peale. By constantly feeding your mind with positive material, you will get used to seeing the brighter side of things. You can also start to hang around positive and encouraging people as well since their attitudes can help change yours. Just thinking positive isn’t enough to change your life though.<br /> The best way is to go beyond positive thinking is to focus on taking action. Get in the habit of taking action even when it’s hard. Let’s say you failed to reach your financial goals. What do you do now? You take action. Do something about it. It’s only when you take action that can you change your situation. Thinking positive is great but sometimes it can be hard to think of the right things but if you take action every time you fail, you will build momentum. The reason why negative thinking will cause you to fail is because it will cause you to not want to do anything.<br /> If you combine a positive mentality and the habit of taking action, you will have a much greater chance of achieving your goals. Will thinking positively all the time guarantee success? Of course not, but if you think negatively all the time, that’s a guarantee that you will fail.</div>

The indicators used in Vision of Humanity’s renowned Global Peace Index (GPI) report have now been adopted in a Nigeria Peace Index, created by the Foundation for Peace Professionals (FFP), with slight adjustments made to suit local use. This is a useful tool for peace builders in Nigeria, especially for authorities in search appropriate policy direction for peace building.</div> <div style="background-color: #fdfdfd; box-sizing: border-box; color: #212121; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, Utkal, sans-serif; font-size: 1.08rem; line-height: 1.575rem; margin-bottom: 30px; padding: 0px; text-rendering: optimizeLegibility;"> Measuring peace at the national level allows a country to assess the social, political and economic factors that create peace. More importantly, the NPI will allow peace builders in Nigeria to change the narrative, by concentrating the advocacy on foundational indices of peace, not on crisis or conflict management. This is important because, by focusing the discussion on fundamental indices of peace, we are channeling efforts towards advocating for improvement in those factors that make the society empowered and less prone to conflict and insecurity.</div> <div style="background-color: #fdfdfd; box-sizing: border-box; color: #212121; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, Utkal, sans-serif; font-size: 1.08rem; line-height: 1.575rem; margin-bottom: 30px; padding: 0px; text-rendering: optimizeLegibility;"> To design the Nigeria Peace Index (NPI), five (5) broad indicators were adopted namely; crime rate, level of human rights abuse, level of poverty, level of education, and rate of incarceration. Talk shows on televisions turned the sharing of opinions into a national pastime. Editors and talk show hosts strive to give us a range of opinions that stretch from one end of the spectrum to another. At another level, people are enlisted to share their thoughts and feelings publicly on any number of social, moral, and political matters and as a result, some people spend valuable time sharing only feelings, sentiments or uninformed opinions.</div> <div style="background-color: #fdfdfd; box-sizing: border-box; color: #212121; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, Utkal, sans-serif; font-size: 1.08rem; line-height: 1.575rem; margin-bottom: 30px; padding: 0px; text-rendering: optimizeLegibility;"> However, that is not the case with the NPI, which was designed based on facts and verifiable data. It is not about opinion or perception of peace. It is primarily focused on rating the peacefulness of states based on foundational indices of peace, which are verifiable and not tied to any singular event.
