Valverde has a problem in central defence

Barcelona seem to be in a sticky situation with regards to their defence, after Gerard Pique suffered an injury to his knee in the Catalan derby on Sunday.
The club have yet to make any statement on the injury and how long the player is expected to be out.
However, MARCA understand that it's the intention of the player to train with the team on Wednesday and attempt to be available on Thursday in the semifinals of the Copa del Rey against Valencia.
The Catalans don't want to take any risks with him though, and will only let him play if he is 100 percent match fit on Wednesday.
What does not seem to be at risk is Pique's presence in the Champions League, on February 20 against Chelsea.
For now, the only question concerns the semifinal clash on Thursday at the Estadio Mestalla.
Of course, because of the proximity of the Stamford Bridge battle (14 days left), the club will be especially careful with what decision is taken regarding his participation in the Valencia game.
Ernesto Valverde must make a choice on who will accompany Samuel Umtiti at the back against Los Che.
If Pique doesn't play, all roads lead to new signing Yerry Mina.
The Colombian could make his debut as a Barcelona player in a very demanding and crucial match, although Valverde must assess if Mina is prepared enough to take on such a big role.
Barcelona's defensive problems will last, at least, until the weekend, due to Umtiti's suspension in LaLiga.
Therefore, unless Vermaelen receives the medical green light in the coming days, the coach could be forced to experiment with his remaining options at the back against Getafe on Sunday.
Positioning Sergio Busquets in the defensive area or resorting to Lucas Digne are the most likely options.
