Lagos Assures Residents Of Agboyi Access To Potable Water

Lagos State Government has assured residents of the State, particularly Agboyi community access to potable water supply.
This was revealed in a statement by the Managing Director/CEO, Lagos Water Corporation, LWC, Engr. Muminu Badmus on Wednesday.
He said the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has employed a pragmatic approach in solving the problems of water demand gap and ensure that Lagos is water crisis free.
He explained further, “a great number of projects have been embarked upon to increase Water production, distribution and expansion of reticulation across the State”.
Badmus stated that the state government organized a stakeholders’ meeting at Ogudu Ori-Oke area to keep the residents abreast of the State’s plan to commence Network Extension of Water Distribution to Ogudu Ori-Oke, Alapere and other adjoining communities, including Agboyi residents as this would boost water supply in the area.
He added that the current rehabilitation and expansion projects going on in different parts of Lagos which involve the replacement of pipes and mains expansion would tackle the problems of ageing pipes and spaghetti connections in Agboyi community.
He, however, urged Lagosians to desist from illegal connections, as the Corporation is always ready to attend to issues relating to water connections, adding that the LWC Regional Offices across the State are at beck and call of Lagosians to attend to Water related issues.
He urged the residents of the State to be patient as the corporation is working assiduously to ensure that water gets to every home and that there would be excess water supply, as the State has placed much priority on water sector.
