Arsenal goalkeeper Cech a doubt for north London derby against Tottenham with calf injury
Petr Cech is struggling to be fit for Saturday’s crunch north London derby against Tottenham.
The Arsenal goalkeeper limped off during the weekend win over Everton with a calf injury.
The shot-stopper was assessed by Gunners staff on Monday and Arsene Wenger will give his No 1 every chance to prove his fitness.
But it looked unlikely the keeper would be available for the trip to Spurs meaning Wenger will have to call upon understudy David Ospina, who has not made a single Premier League start this season.
The Colombian international has long been the recognised cup goalkeeper at the club and has featured in the Europa League, EFL Cup and FA Cup this season.
But he has not made a league start for the Gunners since the 2-2 draw with Manchester City in April last year.
Since joining in the summer of 2014, the 29-year-old has made 23 Premier League appearances.
