Arsenal and Tottenham target Malcom confesses he wanted 'dream' EPL move in January window
Malcom has admitted a move to the Premier League would have been a 'dream' for him after Tottenham and Arsenal both showed interest.
The Bordeaux winger was wanted by the North London clubs in January, however, the Ligue 1 side were reluctant to let the £45m Brazilian leave before the summer.
Mauricio Pochettino instead opted for Lucas Moura in a deal worth £25m, while the Gunners swapped Alexis Sanchez with Henrikh Mkhitaryan before completing a club-record £56m move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
And while Malcom's asking price scared of potential buyers, he is still hopeful of a summer move.
'It's my dream to progress in my career,' the 20-year-old told French news outlet Telefoot. 'I spoke to the president, he told me that he knew it was my dream, but that he needed me.
'I told him he could count on me until the end of the season, I will do everything to help Bordeaux finish in the top six in Ligue 1.'
Malcom has just eight goals to his name in Ligue 1 so far this season, one better than his final goal tally last season.
His wealth of experience already at such a young age, making his Ligue 1 debut aged just 18.
Spurs and Arsenal will meet for the second North London derby of the season at Wembley next Saturday as they chase a Champions League spot, which could be a crucial factor in where Malcom elects to relocate should he leave Bordeaux in the summer.
