A Nigerian male feminist has weighed in on the feminist debate. Ogalanya Franklin shared his experiences as a male feminist in Nigeria and explained why it might be difficult for Nigerian women to accept feminism. He also said that the ones who oppose gender equality the most are women, not men.
He concluded by saying:
I can see fairly good and bad reasons why you should or shouldn't do the things you do for a man; why you should cook or not cook for a man, why you should get married or not get married, why you should submit to a man or why you shouldn't but "because you are a woman" is not a part of them. Never accept "because you are a woman" as a reason to do or not do anything.
