The Duchess of Sussex arrived Cheshire today with Queen Elizabeth for a day of engagements.
They arrived at Runcorn Station on the Royal Train after which they attended the opening ceremony of the new Mersey Gateway Bridge in the town of Widnes in Halton, Cheshire.
The Queen and Meghan looked to be comfortable in each other's company and they kept exchanging smiles and chatting with each other during the ceremony.
This is Meghan's first solo outing with The Queen. It is the first occasion the Queen has taken her new granddaughter-in-law on an official visit and royal observers have noted that this happened faster for Meghan compared to her predecessor Kate Middleton.
The way Meghan carried herself during this outing shows her Duchess lesson is paying off. She sat with her legs in the "Duchess Slant" position, not her usual way of crossing her legs at the knees. She also had on pantyhose, instead of her usual bare legs.
